Is the glass half empty or half full?

FIRST OF ALL, THANK YOU TO THE 1000 NEW TWITTER FOLLOWERS AND THE NEARLY 1000 READERS THAT HAVE COME TO THIS BLOG. I am glad my opinion and critique has been reaching quite a few people and let's hope it keeps growing.

It has been a while since I last wrote, but the hype of June 13th WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference) is growing and I wanted to let you guys know where Apple stands before this possibly GINORMOUS keynote and what could come from it.

You know how they say your biggest challenge is to surpass yourself? Well I'm sorry to say that Apple wasn't able to "beat itself" after a 13 years IN A ROW growth... Yeah, 50,6 BILLION dollars in revenue is not good enough apparently to be an ok quarter result... Not just that, evidently the 13-year surge was clearly and openly announced to be coming to a "halt"... But since it had been 13 years of such amazing results, even when warned, people seem to be surprised, shocked and dramatic about it:
"It's the end of Apple" or "the best days of Apple are behind it"
...Really? That Short a memory? After the largest quarterly profit in History? Well i guess some people see the glass half empty.

Anyhow, I'm not here to bore you with numbers and statistics, I'm here to give you MY point of view on what was reported and what is apparently coming soon... Here's what the half full glass shows:

1. The iPad: it has and will continue to change and improve education and work environments of the world in many ways, but it WILL NOT drive Apple like the iPhone does. After all it is not a device that consumers will buy once a year to have the newest version, therefore its sales are those of a product that people use a lot but don't change very often.

2. The Apple Watch: it has become the billion dollar business it set out to be in much less time than the iPhone and iPad, when they first came out as new products... But still remains under the "Other Products" category in Apple's report. It needs to find true greatness and value behind being the "new product" that it is for now.

3. The iPhone: the single biggest consumer product in history... And yeah it dropped 16% in sales... But for every single iPhone there was two years ago there are 4 more out there now. Think about what that means in terms of market share? No wonder Apple has an upgrade program, look around you, there is an iPhone close by all the time. Which is great if you ask me.

4. Apple Music: has grown to 13 millions paying subscribers in less than ONE year... It took Spotify nearly 4 years to get to 12.5 million... just saying.

Now for the part we are all waiting for: SO MUCH CAN COME OUT OF THIS WWDC16!!!!

Sadly, Macbook Air (my beloved laptop) is no longer going to exist, although the new Macbook's thinness should have been enough of a warning about this happening... What I did see coming was an new all innovative all expensive Macbook Pro... Rumor has it that it will not just be faster and thinner and lighter, with great retina display and battery life; as it always does... But this time some innovation could make your money's worth, that's all I'm saying...

Of course the iPhone Magic is coming! Finally the iPhone 7 will be shown, and there is a high chance that the One Bad characteristic about iPhones in general have had will be taken care of: this iPhone could possibly say goodbye to the 16gigabyte model!!!! Happiness is an understatement about what i feel about this late, but necessary upgrade in basic model memory. I do not like to get into all these rumour stories that fly around the web before every Apple Keynote, but this news I just could not leave out...

Let me be clear about something here, I am a part of two not so popular groups of people:

A. People who liked Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie.
B. People who like their Apple Watch.

In addition to getting used to my Apple Watch (and really acknowledging it is a first generation product), i believe that the smartphone life of constantly checking notifications is simplified by it. I get interrupted much less by my iPhone just by quickly dismissing or completely ignoring notifications that should not disturb my daily life. I believe the Apple Watch can only improve from where it stands right now, let's see what Apple does to better its hardware and excite developers again to make more watch apps.

Software is the one aspect of this year's keynote that will truly affect us all, whether you plan on getting the new iPad, iPhone, iPod, MacBook, Apple Watch, or just stick with your still amazing older generation Apple products, these updates will impact us all. So hopefully it will be full of new features and with the least amount of bugs... We don't want to re-live the iOS 7 bug infestation again (sorry bad joke)...

Finally, one person who we all forget is there for us, she always has and always will, is SIRI. Siri was absolutely brilliant at first, and even though now she is a little out-featured by the competitors, what she does, she does Really Well. I use Siri a lot while I drive and A LOT with my Apple Watch. The "Hey Siri" feature is flawless when I use it, and man! do i love that she knows the scores to the games of soccer or football or basketball that I need.
But even so, it is time to get better, not just better by Apple... Better by everyone! A Siri Developer tool could change the interactions we have with Apps themselves, improve hands free environments and even develop new hardware!

I cannot wait to see what Apple shows us on June 13th... Because after all this should be a great year for Apple, and therefore also for us apple freaks...
