The Future is Bright! 2017 and Forward!

WE´RE BACK!!!!! And no, I'm not talking about just me writing on this amazing blog to all you apple or non apple readers out there. I mean APPLE IS BACK! On Tuesday the Christmas quarter is out and EVERYONE knows Christmas is a an awesome time to get yourself that iPhone 7 you've wanted for months and months now. An expected 78 million iPhones were sold in the 3 months leading up to December, so do the math, take out the slighter higher production costs for the new iPhone and remember "as goes the iPhone, so does Apple". With about half of it's revenue coming from this amazing device, Apple shares are right now trading at its highest in over a year.

So, let's back track a moment and talk about this last quarters products which is the most interesting thing to talk about and after all the title is about them and the future! So sit back, grab some coffee and enjoy my lovely opinion on iPhone 7, MacBook Pro and one more thing, the AirPods.

I really don't understand how people continue to think Apple is a company that makes gadgets for today. Look at how far we have come: not just since the beginning of Apple as a company but also since this blog began: How many ports have been discarded, how many products have been updated, innovated, introduced? I am grateful to have written out my thoughts to you guys via this blog and to record my awe and shock at the direction Apple has decided to take since always: "always forward" (yeah, that was a Luke Cage reference, i don't just like apple)

Let's start with the elephant in the room: AirPods "Wireless headphones. Finally, untangled"
It's not like BlueTooth hasn't come a long way to what it is today; it's just that it still has a LONG way to go. Apple knew this when announcing these amazing EarPod looking, dental-floss seeming boxed earphones. It is a look forward on Bluetooth and on the extremely old headphone jack. The fact is the W1 chip is a great way of making pairing no longer a problem, of knowing if you're listening out of One or Two earphones, and lastly of saving battery life. Yes they are small, yes they are expensive and yes they have no buttons. But the fact is they work like no other and they are based around the Apple environment of devices. Ever since i saw these and tried them out at an apple store i thought "man, these would work BEAUTIFULLY with my AppleWatch"; and sure enough they do! Siri is a very responsive assistant and all, but the music control for the AirPods the Watch provides is seamless like you won't even imagine. Yet again, thinking about bluetooth pairing and wireless future is what Apple is best at, and this first generation device is proof of that if not more.

Next, my favorite dilemma: the MacBook Pro. I am going to get frowns on faces with this part of the blog, specially if you are a power user with your Mac, but let's be serious. What sells more? A computer aimed at "normal everyday consumers" or a computer aimed at power users? Yeah, i said it (Chris Rock reference there), and i have no problem repeating it. The MacBook Pro is an amazing computer aimed at the consumers of the world that like an Apple product that innovates and that packs a punch larger than a normal MacBook Air or MacBook. I love my Mac Air, but i am all about buying a one port MacBook as soon as i can. Why? because FORWARD! (didn't you read the title?) That is what technology does for you, it pushes and innovates on life. You like it or not, kids have NO idea what no-internet is like. GaryVee said "the phone is the TV and the TV is the radio" and whether you believe it or not, it is the truth and you will adapt or get left behind! The MacBook Pro doubles down on the USB-C (which loads of phone companies are doing so too), AND adds what the true 21st century laptop should be, a non touchscreen device. I've tried these horrible computer-tablet confusion devices and they try to be comfortable, and fail at it. I love the Microsoft surface because they know they are a tablet FIRST and then a computer, i love my iPad because it is such an amazing tablet that it can sometimes make me forget the computer way of life. But in the end a computer is a computer and we can't just cut the chord (yet). The Touch Bar is easy to use and helps the computer move forward in replacing another largely OLD part of technology: the function keys. Oh! and yes it is a real bummer to have to buy adapters and dongles, I guess you could say it's the price of the future.

Now for my favorite: my beautiful iPhone 7. This year it is the 10th anniversary of one of the biggest upsets in technological history: the one phone to rule them all (Lord of the rings reference): the iPhone. And even when I know the 10th anniversary iPhone 8 will blow my mind, like i have been since i first held an iPhone 3GS and fell in love, I could not be happier with my iPhone 7. First, waterproof isn't something you "use" until you NEED it... people don't drop their phones into a puddle, pool or toilet just because, and if and when it happens, you will thank Cook for that! Second, the cameras are jaw dropping in general but for video... there is NOTHING like the iPhone 7 Plus in video. Samsung and Google phones takes neat pictures, but step aside for video, sorry it's true. I will take the heat on me saying that pictures aren't as good as samsung or google phones, but on video? be real and accept defeat. Third, no headphone jack! AAAHHHHH crazy Apple! Why did you do this to us? why another port gone? I have one thing to say (again): forward! The iPhone 7 Plus is what i recommend just in case you were wondering, because its battery life, GPU and CPU and the 3 points mentioned previously in this paragraph make it the best phone out there yet...

I will leave you guys with a thought that I have had for the 10th anniversary iPhone coming this year:

Apple does not invent things, it reinvents them... forever.

Thanks for reading, more to come this year and don't forget to follow me on twitter and instagram
